General Information
What documents do I need to rent a car?
- For UAE Residents: You need your original Emirates ID and a valid UAE driving license that is at least one year old.
- For Tourists/Visitors: You need your original passport with a valid visa stamp, your home country's driving license, and in most cases, a valid International Driving Permit (IDP). Please check with our team or the official RTA website to confirm if your home country's license is directly accepted in the UAE.
What is the minimum age to rent a car?
- The minimum age is 21 years old. For certain luxury or sports cars, the minimum age may be 25. A young driver surcharge may apply for drivers between 21 and 24 years old.
Is a credit card required for the rental?
- Yes, a valid credit card in the Renter's name is mandatory for the security deposit. We accept major credit cards like Visa and MasterCard. Debit cards may be accepted for the rental payment, but a credit card is still required for the pre-authorized security deposit.
Booking and Payments
How can I book a car?
- You can easily book a car through our website or by contacting our reservations team directly via phone or WhatsApp.
What does the rental price include?
- The price includes the daily rental rate, basic comprehensive insurance, and a limited mileage allowance. It does not include fuel, Salik (toll) charges, traffic fines, or additional optional services.
Do you require a security deposit?
- Yes, a refundable security deposit is required to cover potential traffic fines, Salik charges, and minor damages not covered by insurance. The deposit amount is pre-authorized on your credit card and will be released within 30 days after the rental return.
What is your cancellation policy?
- Cancellation policies vary based on the specific booking. Please refer to the cancellation terms stated on your reservation confirmation. No-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in a fee or forfeiture of the prepaid amount.
During the Rental
What should I do in case of an accident?
- Stop immediately and do not move the car. Call the Dubai Police at 999 to report the accident and obtain a police report. This report is crucial for any insurance claim. You must also inform Frijnia Rent a Car immediately. Failure to provide a police report will make you liable for the full cost of damages.
Am I responsible for Salik (toll) charges and traffic fines?
- Yes, the Renter is fully responsible for all Salik charges and any traffic fines incurred during the rental period. Salik charges will be deducted from your security deposit, along with a small administration fee per crossing. Fines will be deducted from the security deposit or charged to your credit card once received from the authorities.
What is your fuel policy?
- The car will be provided with a certain level of fuel. You are required to return it with the same level. If the car is returned with less fuel, we will charge you for the difference plus a refueling service fee.
Can I drive the car outside of Dubai?
- You can drive the car anywhere within the United Arab Emirates. Driving the car into other GCC countries is strictly prohibited unless a specific cross-border permit is obtained in writing from Frijnia Rent a Car in advance.
What happens if I exceed the included mileage?
- The rental comes with a daily, weekly, or monthly mileage limit. Any extra kilometers driven will be charged at a predetermined rate per kilometer, as specified in your rental agreement.
Vehicle Return
Where do I return the car?
- The car must be returned to the agreed-upon location as specified in your rental agreement.
What if I return the car late?
- Rental charges are based on a 24-hour period. A grace period may be provided, but any return after the grace period will result in an additional day's rental charge. Please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to be late.
Can I get a refund if I return the car early?
- We do not offer refunds for early returns. The full rental period as agreed upon in the contract will be charged.
How is the security deposit refunded?
- The security deposit will be released back to your credit card within 30 days of the rental end date. The processing time is necessary to allow for the receipt of any traffic fines or charges from the relevant authorities.
Additional Services
Can I add an additional driver?
- Yes, you can add an additional driver for a fee. The additional driver must meet all the same age and documentation requirements as the main Renter and must be present at the time of pickup to sign the rental agreement.
Do you offer GPS or child seats?
- Yes, we offer a range of optional extras for an additional fee, including GPS navigation systems and child safety seats. These can be requested at the time of booking.
